Burn Baby Burn!

Day #46 (Fri)

Friday is normally the day off to do what you like, explore where you wish but instead a few of us went back to Sarah's crèche in Dunoon to do a second fire safety training day. The day before almost 180 people from the local township had turned up- possibly they heard about the free hot dogs but who knows! The day was all about expressing the importance of fire safety and knowing what to do in a situation. Also we had a chance to learn how to use a fire extinguisher which was cool.

It was cool to see my favourite little guy again for one last time.

After that, we went round on a Buckie (pick up truck) delivering Fire extinguishers to the local community leaders and crèches. SAVE had been donated 100 extinguishers to hand out to local communities as a part of a fire safety initiative in South Africa. This is vitally important especially in the townships where houses are close and made out of wood.

It was cool to drive around Dunoon holding on to the back of the Buckie! A whole different way to experience this place. I really thought it was amazing! Then had the chance to walk through all the winding narrow pathways to deliver these extinguishers in the heart of the township.

In the afternoon we went to the beach and played some beach football. That evening was our last Braai together then after that we all headed to the cinema to watch the new movie Prisoners which was really good. Love how cheap the cinema is as well :):):)

Tonight was Stephanie's last night! All in all it was a really special evening all together :)
